Residential Transactions
The purchase of a home is the biggest investment most Americans will make in their lifetime. Our attorneys understand this and act as your counselor in the transaction.
Our involvement in a residential real estate transaction traditionally begins after a contract is signed. In Illinois, the form real estate contract utilized by most real estate agents contains a 5-day attorney approval period. This 5-day period provides us the time to consult with you regarding the transaction and determine whether we are going to move forward to closing. During this time we will advise you of your rights and negotiate contract terms in your best interests.
Between contract signing and the closing day, our real estate assistants will coordinate inspections and loan approvals and will facilitate communications between the buyer, purchaser, lender, real estate agent(s) and the title company.
At closing, your attorney will review the sale documents, the title documents, and will walk you through any loan documents. We explain the process, answer your questions and generally ensure that things go smoothly.
We provide comprehensive residential real estate services including the following:
- Residential home purchase
- Residential home sale
- Residential leases
- Seller financing agreements
- Lease-to-own agreements
